A dog bite is a serious issue and can lead to medical difficulties or even death. This spring, a young Wisconsin boy suffered a dog bite which led to horrible injuries. In a separate incident, a couple was walking on a trail when they were attacked by a dog. Both the man and woman were injured in the attack. In the case of the young boy, he suffered serious injuries that led to missed school and required medical care.

Wisconsin officials warn that dog bites could become more common when the weather gets warmer and more people and animals are outside. The young boy was playing in the backyard when he attacked and bitten through his cheek. The wound required several stitches. This dog was later surrendered to the Humane Society where it was put down in order to test for rabies.

The dog that attacked the man and woman may have been aggravated by the puppy that they were walking. It was apparently unprovoked and the couple was forced to defend themselves against the dog. The sudden attacked brought major wounds and broken bones as well. The dog has not yet been identified.

In Douglas County, Wisconsin, dogs that have attacked a person must be quarantined for 10 days to inspect for signs of rabies. Officially, there were 16 dog bites reported in the last year and many of the victims were children. The owners of the dog must be responsible for damages caused by their animals. After the second attack, it may be deemed that the animal is too dangerous and should be killed.

After a dog bite, it could be possible to seek damages from the owners of the dog. It may be that the owners' insurance would cover a dog attack, but every case is different. As with all cases, a close examination of evidence is necessary before legal proceedings.

In a possible wrongful death case, a Wisconsin man was killed after being struck by a tow truck. He was injured at the scene of the accident, which he initially survived, but unfortunately later succumbed to his injuries. The man was riding a bicycle when he was hit. The accident is still under investigation but circumstances could possibly allow a wrongful death suit against the driver of the tow truck.

When police responded to the emergency call for the accident, they found the bike rider seriously injured. Emergency personnel soon transported him to an area medical center in an effort to save his life. He arrived at the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and he later died from the severe trauma that he suffered in the collision.

The specific circumstances surrounding this tragedy are not yet clear. Wisconsin police officials are investigating in an attempt to discern what may have caused or contributed to this fatal crash. The driver of the tow truck could possibly be deemed liable if the accident was found to be caused by negligence on his part. If the driver is found to be at fault for the collision, the family of the deceased could potentially consider seeking financial compensation for pain and suffering.

No arrests have been made nor have any charges been filed at this time, and there is not yet any indication that any civil lawsuits will be pursued. Once the investigation has been concluded, however, a close examination of all evidence from the accident could indicate if financial compensation is possible from a wrongful death suit. While no amount of money will replace a deceased family member, compensation for pain and suffering can help alleviate some of the financial duress that can come from the death of a loved one.

In Wausau, Wisconsin, a young girl recently suffered an animal attack from a pit bull. The girl was taken to the hospital with injuries, but none appear to be traumatic. The pit bull was given the label "vicious" by the police. The dog was taken to the Humane Society after the animal attack for bite quarantine but will be released back to the owner.

According to Wisconsin police, the girl was approaching the dog when she was attacked. She was warned by another child that she was getting too close, but it was too late for her to avoid the dog's actions. There was no indication where the owners were at the time or if they knew their dog was violent. The police will not force the owners to have their animal put down, but they could opt to do that if they decide not to obey the regulations that come with the dog being labeled as vicious.

The owners will now have to display a sign warning those that come near the house as well as put up a double fence. The dog must additionally wear a leather collar. If the owners follow the rules and there are no more incidents for 36 months, the label will be lifted.

The family of the young girl that was injured may wish to consider a personal injury suit against the owners of the dog. The girl suffered serious enough injury in this animal attack that she had to be treated at a hospital. If the family does wish to pursue litigation against the owners, they should first make a careful examination of all evidence. It could then be decided if they feel there is enough reason to take legal steps to get financial compensation.

A Wisconsin man was recently convicted of homicide charges stemming from a fatal accident. Specifically, he is guilty of "homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle" and "causing bodily harm" while operating a vehicle. The car accident resulted in the death of one teenage girl and two others being severely injured.

The accident occurred after the Wisconsin driver lost control of the vehicle while driving at speeds well above 100 miles per hour. The three girls that were in his car at the time were all in the backseat and were thrown from the vehicle during the crash. The convicted driver pleaded no contest to the charges filed against him.

As part of the young man's plea agreement, the severity of some of the charges brought against him was reduced. Obviously, the driver believed that entering plea agreement was his best option, likely based on the evidence against him and the analysis of his legal team. At this point the families of the two girls both injured and deceased may consider what their legal options might be at this point.

The families of the injured girls might consider a personal injury lawsuit. There is implication that they are both still suffering from repercussions of the car accident. The families certainly have the right to explore what their options might be in order to get financial compensation for the injured girls.

A wrongful death suit might be considered by the family of the deceased girl. They could possibly be eligible for financial compensation, but the first step would be a close examination of all evidence from the car accident. After this phase, it would be determined what subsequent steps can be taken. Financial compensation will not remove their grief but it could ease the probable financial burden that they carry from medical bills and such.

The doctor that treated Michael Jackson in the months leading up to his death is on trial for wrongful death. Wisconsin readers will note he has already been convicted of involuntary manslaughter, and the wrongful death trial in civil court is based on his inability to treat the pop icon. The doctor on trial is a cardiologist, a strange choice considering that Michael Jackson had no heart problems.

Witnesses claim that the doctor was a bad choice for a health care provider for the pop star's final tour. Readers in Wisconsin may know that the doctor has no experience treating any of the substance abuse or sleep problems from which the singer reportedly suffered. His lack of experience in these areas is a main focus in the wrongful death trial.

The doctor, when slated to be Jackson's primary care provider, closed his practice to focus solely on one patient. The doctor was poised to make around $150,000 per month from the tour but would not be paid if the singer could not perform or if dates were cancelled. There is no indication if the doctor's decision to close his practice will have any legal bearing in the wrongful death trial.

The singer's mother is currently suing AEG, the promotion company in charge of the singer's tour, claiming that the doctor hired was not screened properly and was unqualified. AEG claims that the singer's own choices, not the company or the doctor, are to blame for Jackson's death. It has been revealed during the wrongful death trial that the singer had the ultimate authority to fire the doctor, but he chose to remain under his care.

This riveting trial is a blaring reminder that the surviving family members of those who have been mishandled under medical care may be poised for a wrongful death suit. Like in this trial, medical records will be examined and witnesses can be called upon for both sides. The first step in any wrongful death suit is a close examination of all evidence to determine if any subsequent steps can be taken.

In Barron County, Wisconsin, a woman has suffered serious injuries after a strange car accident. According to police, the car accident occurred when the woman's vehicle was struck by a piece of metal that came loose from a semi truck. The semi was headed west at the time of the accident but there is no word where the car was in proximity to the truck.

The piece of metal flew off the truck and then hit the windshield of the car. It broke the glass before striking the driver. The car accident ended with the car swerving into a swampy embankment off the side of the road in Barron County, Wisconsin.

The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries from the car accident. There is no indication of the extent of her head injuries, except that it is noted that they were particularly horrific. The police are still attempting to locate the particular semi truck that caused this accident.

According to the police report, the car accident was the result of what seems to be a skid plate flying off of the semi truck. While the location and company of the truck are still unknown, it begs the question if the truck was aware of the accident when it occurred. Semi trucks normally go through routine maintenance checks so that these types of accidents do not occur, where a piece of the truck comes loose.

The woman and her family may have a case to file for personal injury compensation from the trucking company, especially if the car accident could have been prevented. The first step in this process is a thorough examination of all evidence in the case, from the police report to medical records. Any subsequent steps in the litigation process would be made after the initial analysis.

A new bill in the Wisconsin legislature could potentially change the way that doctors communicate with their patients. It is designed to decrease personal injury claims. This could change exactly how doctors inform their patients about their treatment options and what their choices are in their personal medical treatment.

Wisconsin has an informed consent law that requires doctors to tell their patients what they think they need to know, up to a reasonable point. This new legislation would inverse this, and doctors would now be required to tell patients the most advantageous treatment, and also any other option and opinion that is known. The hope is that by giving the patient this information, it could reduce the doctor's liability for personal injury should something go wrong.

Opponents to this bill claim that giving patients who are not medially trained an abundance of information could lead to confusion and misinformed decisions. They claim that it could cause patients to doubt their doctor's advice. It is, they argue, simply aimed toward decreasing personal injury claims from patients and potentially reducing medical malpractice claims.

Doctors do not currently have to discuss remote possibilities with their patients. By leaving a large amount of decision making power, it is hoped that it would decrease the amount of medical malpractice and personal injury litigation in Wisconsin courts. While the bill is reportedly being rapidly pushed through the state Senate, there is no guarantee that it will be passed into law.

No matter the amount of decision making power that is placed into the hands of patients, the primary responsibility for medical treatment lies with the doctor. Personal injury is still possible even when the patient has been informed of ever option available. Patients that feel that they are a victim of malpractice should always closely examine their medical records to determine any future legal options that could be available.

A car accident involving a semi-truck and a car resulted in a Gays Mills, Wisconsin woman and her daughter being hospitalized. The car accident was a result of a semi-truck running a stop sign and hitting the car at an intersection. The driver and her daughter suffered injuries as a result of the collision, but fortunately none were life-threatening.

The semi-truck, which was apparently hauling cars at the time, struck the smaller car and caused it to spin out of control. According to police, the car accident completely dismantled the passenger side of the small vehicle. After impact, the car came to rest in a ditch facing the wrong direction, indicating, of the severity of the impact between the two vehicles.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured in the car accident. Bystanders who witnessed the accident helped remove the daughter from the car. Thankfully both the mother and the daughter had been wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. The daughter was later airlifted to a different Wisconsin medical facility for treatment, where she had been upgraded to being listed as in good condition.

The semi-truck was carrying a passenger as well, who was also unharmed in the car accident. The driver of the truck was given a citation from police for failing to stop at a stop sign and causing great bodily harm. He was also cited for inattentive driving but it is not clear if he will face any charges for the incident.

The exact nature of the injuries that were incurred was not specified. At this time, there is no indication of the injured driving obtaining legal counsel. Typically, those injured in a car accident can obtain police and medical records to explore the possibility of compensation should they be eligible to file a personal injury lawsuit seeking financial restitution.

The part-time mayor of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin was injured in a severe car accident that killed two others. The car accident took place in Sheboygan Falls when the mayor's wife was driving the car. The two people in the other car passed away at the crash site. The mayor and his wife were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, though they both were expected to survive their injuries.

The wife was subsequently released, but the mayor was admitted and was said to be in fair condition. There is no indication on the specifics of the injuries. The car accident occurred when the mayor, who is blind, and his wife were returning from a motivational speech given by the mayor.

The initial evidence suggests the other driver was to blame for the tragedy. That vehicle crossed into the path of the car containing the mayor and his wife, and was struck on the passenger side. The crash involved emergency personal from the Sheboygan Falls area.

There is no indication if the mayor or his wife has released a statement to the press. His mayoral duties are currently being handled by other administrators while he recuperates. The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the car accident to determine exactly what occurred.

In this tragedy, that one driver's poor decision cost him and his passenger their lives. Moreover, the mayor was seriously injured as well. Wisconsin personal injury laws provide for the right of seriously injured victims in a car accident to sue those deemed responsible for the damages that resulted. In the case of the deceased passenger, her surviving family could elect to move forward with a wrongful death claim against the driver of the vehicle in which she was riding. Since the driver apparently responsible for the crash is dead, the legal claims would necessarily be filed against his estate, as well as against any separate owner of the car he was driving.

A hit and run car accident occurred in Port Washington, Wisconsin that involved a student. After impact, the woman drove away from the scene of the accident. She was later found by the police after a witness identified a company logo on the car. The car accident did not result in any serious injuries for the driver or the student.

Witnesses to the accident said that the student was crossing the street in the early morning when the car accident occurred. Other cars had stopped to allow for the student to cross when the vehicle passed on the right and hit the student. Police say that, once the driver was identified and contacted, she was fully cooperative with the authorities.

The only injury that was incurred in this car accident was by the student. She suffered an injury in the leg and her foot was run over by the driver. No other information was available regarding other injuries, damage to the car, or how the student was recovering from her injuries.

According to the police report, the woman was cited for failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian and failure to report an accident. The police stated that there would no further charges sent to the local District Attorney's office regarding this car accident. The municipal citations will apparently be the extent of the repercussions for the driver, other than the potential for civil claims for recovery of damages.

The family of the student that suffered injuries have the right to explore their legal rights to try to obtain reimbursement for monetary damages sustained in the car accident. They might choose to examine witness reports and medical bills to bolster their case, along with the official accident report once it is completed and becomes available. If they elect to move forward with a personal injury claim under Wisconsin law, any conviction obtained on the traffic citations may be offered as evidence of liability in a related civil proceeding.

An Altoona, Wisconsin man was injured in a car accident involving one car and one bicycle. The car accident occurred when the bicyclist was crossing over State Highway 124 and narrowly escaped being hit head-on by an oncoming vehicle. The bicyclist suffered non-life threatening injuries while the driver of the vehicle was unharmed.

When police responded to the scene of the car accident, the bicycle was broken into two pieces and the vehicle sustained damage on the hood and the windshield. The driver indicated that he did not see the bicyclist at the time. Other witnesses and drivers say that they too did not see the bike attempt to cross the intersection.

Wisconsin traffic laws indicate that when a car is turning at an intersection, the driver must yield to all oncoming traffic, including bicyclists. However, complicating the matter is the fact that the cyclist was wearing all black and was seemingly camouflaged, at least according to eyewitnesses. There is no indication if the cyclist was in violation of traffic laws at the time of the car accident.

The injuries sustained by the bicyclist were non-life threatening, but he was taken and treated at the hospital. There is a history of car accidents at this intersection, particularly involving motor vehicles and bicycles. There is no indication at this time on the official accident report as determined by the police.

In this car accident, there are some potential complications regarding the matter of fault. State traffic laws protect cyclists, but they must also follow certain traffic laws. This accident calls for more detailed investigation from someone who is familiar with the full extent of Wisconsin traffic laws. All parties to the collision may benefit from gaining a full understanding of their rights and responsibilities under Wisconsin law.

Two people were injured and a vehicle caught on fire during a car accident in Sheboygan recently. The crash occurred as a result of an unsecured box in the back of one of the vehicles. The car accident involved a pick-up truck and a sedan, and the injuries were sustained by the two passengers of the pick-up truck.

A gentleman was traveling east down Washington Avenue, or E. Wisconsin Highway, in his pick-up truck when a box in the truck bed flew out of the vehicle. The car accident occurred when the driver stopped his vehicle in a traffic lane to retrieve the box, and the driver of the sedan hit the box. After hitting the box, the driver of the sedan crashed into a parked car.

The two passengers remained in the truck after the driver left the vehicle to retrieve the box. Both of the passengers were taken to a Wisconsin hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries. After the initial accident involving the box, the sedan caught fire upon impact with the truck. Sheboygan area fire fighters were able to extinguish the fire. Both drivers escaped without injuries.

The pickup truck sustained considerable damage from the car accident, as did the sedan. The Sheboygan police report indicates that the driver failed to secure the box that was in the truck bed. He received a ticket for failure to properly secure a load.

Because of the obvious question of liability on the part of the truck driver, the driver of the sedan can explore options regarding personal injury claims. The car accident was unfortunate, and thankfully, there were no serious injuries. Even the smallest of accidents and the smallest of injuries can lead to missed work, lost wages, impairment, and may have many other negative consequences. Those affected by this collision may benefit from gaining an understanding of their rights and responsibilities under our personal injury laws.

On March 6 in Walworth County, a little boy and his babysitter were viciously attacked by two pit bulls. They suffered extensive injuries from the dog attack and were taken to an area hospital. The boy, after being airlifted to a different hospital, died from his injuries.

The toddler was under the care of his babysitter, who is also the owner of the two pit bulls responsible for this vicious animal attack that occurred in her Walworth area apartment. The case has been handed over to investigators to establish if there was any wrong doing on the part of the woman watching the child. According to the accounts of that day, they were suddenly attacked and she was able to call 911 in the midst of the horrible scuffle.

The dogs were taken by the police and were later euthanized by a veterinarian. The ongoing investigation includes an autopsy being done on the boy. While it may be a number of weeks before anything conclusive is known, the authorities in Walworth County will continue to establish the exact order of events that occurred inside that apartment.

The severity of this animal attack is cause for alarm for both police and families alike. While under normal circumstances a dog bite if not typically fatal, this unusual event has resulted in a detailed investigation. The police, doctors, and veterinarian will be called upon for their account of that day's events.

Despite the tragedy of this dog attack and the loss of their son, the parents of this boy may elect to seek help in handling the delicate nature of this case. In addition to possible criminal charges, there are issues concerning negligence that may properly be the basis of a civil claim for wrongful death, though it will surely be difficult to sift through the details of this case. It is useful to have someone with knowledge of the full extent of the law to assist during this difficult and trying time.
